Stop linking to yourself

You know what I hate when I read a blog? I’m reading a nice post and the writer mentions a product, a software, a whatever that I’m interesting in and provides a link with that thing. I click on that link and instead of bringing me to the thing web site, I’m sent to another article about this thing in the same freaking blog. This drives me crazy every times! I know their are trying to keep their audience into their web of site, but I think it is of bad blog etiquette. Just provide me a link to the official web site (yes outside of your blog, don’t worry I will come back) and if you want you can also provide link to your own article(s) as a bonus. Thank you.

Comment threading (I think this will be provided by the Intense Debate plugin)

Why did you get an iPhone?

I got this question a lot lately, sometimes from a techie, sometimes from normal people (yes techies are not normal people). I must admit that at first as was looking at them and my expressiom was saying “What are kidding me, it’s an IPHONE Hello!”. But after a while I translated their question in “What makes an iPhone an iPhone?”. Well beside the hype and even the design, which I guess now looking back made a big difference in the purchase decision. THE reason I bought the iPhone, is to have everything in one little device: phone, iPod, web (real web), mail and contacts (and I’m not mentionning games and other misc apps). An important thing also to mention is that all these functions are well implemented and designed which makes them usable on a day to day basis. Notice that I didn’t say an “mp3 player” but an iPod. Sure some things could be better, but for now it is the best device that do all does things and things could get potentially better with some update in the future. I don’t think my old Sony Ericsson phone had an update in the last 5 years I had it.

New Wordpress iPhone app

Well seems like the Wordpress iPhone app is out, actually I’m using it right now to post this. The app is simple enough and easy to use, but I did not explore all the features yet.

iPhone, flickr and integration please

Can someone create an iPhone app that will let me take a picture, write a caption for it then upload that picture to flickr and post a tweet that link to it with a tiny url.

Believe it not I’m posting this small article from my iPhone, with the help of the great plugin WPhone. Although and has you can it would be kind of hard to post links, since the iPhone doesn’t do cut & paste…yet.
